Philip Strange is Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Reading. His research concerns the mechanisms of drug action. He also enjoys teaching, and tries where he can to interest students in the wider aspects of their science. He was awarded second prize in the National Brain-Science Writing Competition in 2008.
