Is it possible to identify the first cell to mutate in cancer, like the ground zero for cancer, if you will? David Grombach |

Kat - No. It probably isn’t. Cancer cells are so mutated, it would be virtually impossible to go all the way back and in some cases, the original cell may not even be there. |

During 9/11, we refer to the site of the World Trade Center as "ground zero"
When an epidemic starts, we refer to "Patient Zero"
When a cancer starts, have we been able to identify "Cell Zero?"
