Question

Sky Albanese, Second Life asked:

Does traumatic mating precede the more usual kind of insemination that we associate with insects?

Answer

Richard -   No, it didnít preceded it.  It came secondarily.  Bed bugs do have a normal reproductive tract through which they lay their eggs and this is a way of the males bypassing the normal route to try and get more of the offspring for themselves.
