Question

JS Uralia asked:

Is the Cambrian period named after Cambridge?

Answer

Ben -  Very good question, I must admit I did have to look it up.  But no, itís actually named after the Latin name for Wales which is Cambria and thatís because there are Welsh mountains where we see some of the best examples of these rocks.
