Could a lost love stress your skin? Researchers have found that the emotional stress of a break-up compromises the skin's ability to repair itself making it more vulnerable to damage from free radicals and causing it to age more rapidly. The study examined women aged between 21 and 45 half of whom described themselves as happy and half of whom were going through a relationship break-up. The skin of the happy women repaired itself to an average of 90% of its capacity compared to just 50% of those going through a split.
