Seriously, in my eyes it walks beside 'The wizard from Oz' but never do I see in on the Telly.
Why.
Is it because it's British, well, sort of?
You wanna keep it for yourself, do you...
Or, is she dead?
Nah, can't be, that one is immortal.

It is on every Christmas in Britain and Julie Andrews is very much alive. She stopped singing for a long time because she had nodes on her vocal chords and the operation to remove them did not go well. She has only just decided to perform again but won't be hitting the notes she used to do.

She may sound like Paul Robeson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh9WayN7R-s) though.

Well, I guess that most of the channels here in Sweden, as well as the programs bought, are American. That may explain it, but it's still such a perfect Christmas thing to watch I think.
-
I mean, can you think of anything more 'Christmas' than this? Mary Poppin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T5_0AGdFic)
-----
BTW: how do you 'embed' it so that it comes up inside your post. I thought I knew but?
I found another too, utube style Mary 4-Real (http://www.movieandtvonline.com/video/3803-Mary_Poppins)

I love Mary Poppins.. and thats just silly! LOL...LOL..
-
Isn't Dike Van Dick in it trying to do a cock-o-ney accent. Bart Simpson always takes the mickey out of it, I seem to remember.
-
LOL yes Dick Van Dyke is in it.....I would have a hard time telling one accent from another.. I am really bad with them..
-
Yes Dick Van Dyke was trying to put on a Cockney Accent but
that's a London accent. Bad try for then.
I have not seen that film for years,
-
I Love it!! I loved most all those old musicals!
-
Why is mary poppins shown at christmas? There's not even a christmas scene in the movie...is there?

I love wonderful life, especially when he goes to jump off the bridge to kill himself but looks both ways before crossing the road to get there. Got to love it. I'm writing a play called a wonderful Death based on this story but different. A guy is dying and realises that if he had never been born he really wouldn't have been missed so he sets about trying to make a difference to one person's life before he dies. Good eh (copy right the Make it Lady)

I like that this Japanese 'Mary 4-Real' have English text to English spoken words too. It makes a visual double impact sort of, might even make me remember some lyrics?
-
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bull whips and handcuffs and soft leather mittens
Big hunky packages tied up with string
Ah! These are a few of my favorite things.
Did I get the words right?
-
Yes, these are Variola's lyrics.
-
I also hadn't seen it for years. I just watched it here: http://www.moviemedias.com/movie/mary-poppins I still love it though.
