Post by: PaulaOR on 21/02/2009 13:30:02
PaulaOR asked the Naked Scientists:

Why does our skin get wrinkled after a long soak in the bath or pool?

Thanks, we love your podcasts (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/)!

You'll notice your hands get more wrinkly than say your belly. This is because you have more dead skin on your hands because you're always using them. The dead skin absorbs water and expands, causing the wrinkles.
