What is the practical implementation of quantum telephony? The crux of the system is having two entangled physical particles. How would these particles be distributed in order to link your phone with someone else's? Would you buy a ten pack of entangled pairs, and put one half of a pair in your phone and give the other half to someone you wanted to call for their phone? Would phone companies provide phones with preset devices where they keep one half a pair at their center, the other half of a pair installed on your phone, and call routing between parties through a switch at their center? The first is very secure, but inconvenient, the second is very convenient, but less secure. With the capability to entangle more than two particles simultaneously, how could you test if your "pair" wasn't maliciously entangled with a third particle?
