George asked the Naked Scientists:
My husband is undergoing extremely painful physiotherapy for 2 broken shoulders; the therapist says he is working against her I think this is in anticipation of the pain of her trying to stretch the muscle. My question is can pain killer or muscle relaxant work to prevent the pain if taken in advance?
