Saw The Last King of Scotland last night. Don't watch the last scene if you're at all squeemish. I'm not and I still found it difficult!

Also saw Breaking and Entering recently - superb, Jude Law is such an excellent actor! Also enjoyed playing 'spot the location' [:)]

The Last King of Scotland is based around the rise of Idi Amin in Uganda.

First zombie films for me was night of the living dead and Dawn of the living Dead! Both scared the crud out of me.... Both on Halloween night! YIKES..... I am a whimp anyway.. I can handle most scarry movies, Do You remember silence of the lamb... That scared the wits out of me because of the pure reality of it!

My Children and I sold candy for scouts to a man who a couple months later walked into the police department with a plastic baggy containing a womens breast! He had killed her, and I am not sure how many other women and cut them up and had them stored parts of them in his chest freezer in the home we visited for the candy sales.. Creepy.. and I had thought it so strange to have your front door paddlelocked shut when you were away... but now I know why!! YIKES... Too much reality in some movies I have had enough of the real thing in my life and don't need it for entertainment! I like some but not others... Just depends!

I Love the George Romero films. Silence of the Lambs is a brilliant film, but scary that things like that happen.

Karen, what a story, that would have given me the chill for the rest of my life if that has happened to me.

IT WAS TerribleI want to say his name was wayne Adam Ford, I don't know how many women or really more then one, They tried to keep it hush hush and had to move his trial to another place because they felt he wouldn't be safe here and that they had connected him to others down southern california. He was a truck driver and they said he was picking women up in his rig and killing them... The details were to grusome for me.. I never followed it through as I was scared to death that the kids and I had been in his residence selling the man Scout candy!

It was a excellent film and well done, but scared the living daylights out of me, as ascary movie is supposed to do !

That is horrid hun. I read a few cases online about serial killers and how they dispatched of their victims. I really wonder about these people, how can they do something so evil.

Anyway, films, I finally saw The Fantastic Four, I don't know why a lot of people were down on it. It seemed ok to me

HAve you seen the World According to Garp?
Title: Re: Another movie thread q
Post by: Mirage on 24/11/2006 20:08:50
I thought it was filled with spagetti hoops or something like that. I can't really remember what is was that she wanted now.
There are so many moments in that film that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, in a good way though. He was such a carring man and would not give up on anyone, especially the man who had pancreatic cancer or something along those lines. He made him realise that spending his last days with his family and not being so bitter about everything would help him alot more than being the way he was.

HAve you seen the World According to Garp?

Doesn't ring a bell I'm afraid

Robin  Williams too! Has some dark spots but was an excellent movie also.. One of his earlier films.. Can't remember who produced it!

Hmmm, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I heard that One Hour Photo is quite dark as well
Title: Re: Another movie thread q
Post by: Karen W. on 24/11/2006 20:47:46
Yes actually but I thought it was different and good also! Not your everyday Robin williams. I am glad to see that he is not allowing himself to get stereotyped into every role with the same kind of character!!

Have you seen What Dreams may come! I think thats the title.. Kind of fantasy, confusing, surealistic, but good! I bought it and had to watch a couple times before everything sunk in!

Daniel be back in a few have a few things to do like taking meds and showering, I'll be back!
Title: Re: Another movie thread q
Post by: Mirage on 24/11/2006 21:08:14
Yet again I've heard of it but never seen it.

I know what you mean about actors and actresses being stereotyped. Jim Carey is the same, when I first heard about Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind and how Jim Carey was acting in a serious way I thought it would be really interesting to see. I was more than impressed with his acting, in fact I loved the film. And it does go to show that actors and actresses can change from certain types of films they are stereotyped for.

Ok sweetie chat to you in a bit  [:)]

I watched The Departed which had Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga, Anthony Anderson, Alec Baldwin, Kevin Corrigan, James Badge Dale, David O'Hara, Mark Rolston, Robert Wahlberg and Kristen Dalton in it. So a lot of famous to known actors and actresses. It was ok, but it's a remake of a film called Infernal Affairs which was really good, probably because it was a Asian Tartan film, the Japanese sure know how to make a good film  [:D]

I can't remember what the film was that I watched last night. It was a manga animation, nice little story.

It was lacking all the cheep thrills and such! I bought it in a box of marked down vhs movies at one of the markets. New none the less lacking... I was saddened by its lack of Shock and scare!
