I'm so happy....with all my disinfectant love that I have in the house ........I am content in the knowledge that they kill 99.99% of all known germs !!
BUT...this is not good enough !!..what is the 0.01% known germ/s that it won't kill ?..and is this unwelcome guest a visitor in my house already or does it dwell in some swamp a few thousand miles away ?
Thanks
-
Me thinks it dwells with you there, I would be willing to guess that is what made you so sick my friend!! You harbor the tiny percentage that sabotoged your immune system and was responsible for your pulled legiment Sir!! Just a guess,But if you look to your snezze thread I left a post that may help you prevent another out burst with your sneezes!
-
Ofcourse, it might be that if it had only killed 98% of all known germs, the other 1% could have actually been benificial (after all, many people go around eating yogurt with live bacteria). It is not the number that matter, but which ones (in fact, anti-biotics can give you an upset stomach just because they kill bacteria that help the gut).
-
This is very true! I only use anti bacterial anything in the bathroom and for my hand washed dishes. Mostly I use the dishwasher! I think they kill to many of the germs that are healthy! I have heard if we don't have some germs we will get sicker when exposed to the more common ones as we are not used to being around them.. How much truth is in that statement anyways?

I am assuming it refers to 99.99% of bad germs though , germs we want dead !!...don't you think ?

Do we know which are the good and the bad germs, or even if there are not some that are both?

Well Neil heres and interesting thought! We are no longer allowed to use antibacterial cleanrers at the preschool as It kills to many good bacteria, with the bad! although Bleach Yes indeed and it must kill alot!

I live in peace with my germs.
We made a deal: I carry you around
if you don't bother me too much...
They don't exactly like being washed out
by soap and kept under control by my
immune system, they tolerate it.
Under their suggestion I keep my
inflammatory cytokines low, to avoid
an overridden immune reaction, and
I try not to pick up too many 'new' bugs
from other people...

Oh gosh Neilep!
Fried cod-sticks...I hope you fried them in
first class olive oil. Otherwise the few molecules
of nice omega-3 float in a bulk of unhealthy fat! [;D]
Go for 'bagna cauda': believe me.
Stay tuned

BRUSCHETTA
SERVES 6-8
4 Large ripe tomatoes, seeded and diced
50 g Smoked cheese, diced
1/4 White onion, roughly chopped
8-10 Basil leaves
5-6 Black olives, roughly chopped
4 tbsp Virgin olive oil
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 Baguette french loaf
Garlic butter (better to scratch fresh garlic!)
1. Cut baguette into thin diagonal slices.
2. Spread one side of each slice with garlic butter. Grill or bake in the oven, buttered side up, till "dry" or lightly toasted.
3. Chop basil and combine thoroughly with other ingredients. Adjust seasoning with more lemon juice if necessary and black pepper.
4. Either serve the salad and toast separately or spoon some of the salad on each slice of toast and eat immediately.

This topic was such fun...we went through germs of any sort,
dreadful beasts that could kill you in a few days.
But when garlic came on, all of them suddenly disappeared!
I'd like to resuscitate it, just for a while...
