Title: Talking while Sleeping
Post by: Iman on 07/02/2006 00:35:04
First hello everyone. I am in a new member in this forum.

So:
Have you ever wondered :
Why we talk while sleeping? Is it normal? sometimes not only talk but even walk. What is the physiological explanation for this ? Does walking or talking happens in the REM? Sometimes we woke up in the mid of that and we say OOps I was talking ..sometimes we dont know that we were talking while sleeping unless others told us why ? does it depend when that happen?

Please share with me your knowledge abt this subject.

Welcome Iman.

There seems to be quite a few sites out there with regard to sleep walking and talking. One things for sure, I won't say it's  " normal" because not all of us do it... but it's certainly quite common.

try this here http://www.dreamdoctor.com/better/walking/ and this one http://www.parenting-ed.org/handout3/Specific%20Concerns%20and%20Problems/sleep%20walking.htm

It all seems far more prevalent in children than in adults. It all seems quite bizarre doesn't it ?...especially sleep walking which obviously engages the eyes to see where you're going !!

Men are the same as women.... just inside out !!

Neilep,
Sleep talking came to my mind just bec today I woke up on my self and I was talking but I odnt remember any thing I was saying!!..

thanks for the sites , they were helpful and they r more oriented to children cases. probably sleep walking is more common in childhood.

i remember from my brother (15 years old) who used to walk while sleeping ..his eyes would be wide open, but he is not aware of anything and even he can talk to you  but all is non sense!!
