Title: Fedora 9, No Web Connection, but downloads programs.

My Fedora 9 OS initially worked, but after a time when the other computer on the cable installed an automatic XP update, which clashed with Zone alarm, meaning it lost the net entirely, I could also not surf it with Fedora. But I could download programs.

I fixed XP, but how can I fix Fedora?

Is this all on a single dual-boot system or are they two separate PCs?  If we're talking about two separate PCs, does your Fedora system access the net via the XP system or do they both connect separately via your hub? i.e. is your net modem connected to the XP system or is it connected to a hub?

It is a separate computer, on a common modem. But it now works using Sea Monkey, but not Mozilla...

If we're talking about two separate systems, each with it's own connection (via your hub/modem) it's very difficult to see how the ZoneAlarm problem on your windows system could have any effect upon your Fedora system unless it's also changing a firewall setting in your modem.

Try renaming the .mozilla folder (the leading dot is important) in your home directory to something like .mozilla-bak and then try re-starting it.  This should create a new replacement .mozilla folder.

You could try http'ing to your modem and checking it's settings.

I changed the proxy settings and it's go.
