Title: Happy Birthday to me!

Post by: Don_1 on 20/01/2009 12:30:17: Hieroglyphs cannot be directly translated. Many form sounds rather than letters. For example ‘O’ this circle is a sign of the sun and therefore gives the sound ‘ra~h’ as in the God of the Sun, Ra. Others are whole words. They should also be taken in context with others within the text.

I, for one, would not claim to be able to understand or translate them. What I wrote were the most basic and simple of them all.

This one is the actual hieroglyph for the name of a God . Can you guess who? Here’s a clue - Frederick Forsyth

BTW, you have the 2nd letter correct.
