Title: Your First Ever Post on TheNakedScientists?

What was your first ever post on TheNakedScientists?

Mine was:

A Sampling Frame, which you use in Biology.

It's usually 50x50 and it is used to place on something, such as a field, and its like a metal frame. Within the frame, you count how many and what type of living things there are, and you repeat this process lots of times, to estimate the population size in a large study area.

But, I'm not sure what the scientific name for this is. The Sampling Frame.

Someone help me out here? Thanks

I haven't got a clue of the maths etc involved but I like the idea. It would make 1 hell of a weapon too!

I don't think that's right. My first ever contact with TNS was sending a text to the radio show about mosaicism. I'm sure my first ever post here was on the same subject.

my first post was a topic that I had had burning inside my head for quite some time before I joined the forum, here it is:

Mine was somewhere in the Zeta thread I believe, but it was some 25,540 + posts ago as I lost about 5000 posts in a couple Zeta threads!

Yep... there was the zeta thread and the gallery of rogues.. kind of meant for before and after shots of people..... It was a good support network for anyone trying to loose some pounds.. diet exercise etc.. I went that way rather then sugery as I have too many other problems.. it was a good boost I know longer have used it for quite sometime.. Have tried to just keep my eating in line.. to my activity.... being sick has not helped.. LOL.. but I am still trying!

That is just what I was thinking that mountains become purple at Sunrise or
late Sunset. I have never seen those mountains.
