Title: Do Children Really Heal Quicker Than Adults ?
Post by: neilep on 03/08/2011 12:24:47
Wocha Peeps,

As a sheepy I of course know everything there is to know about children...........I used to be one !!......... This uncannily unique and fortuitous circumstance allows me an insight into the brat world that others can not possibly enjoy.

Look, here’s a picture of some grups ( GRown UPs) and some kids.

A picture of some grups and kids.

I have labelled the two types of person here to avoid confusion.

It’s generally accepted that kids heal quicker than grups. Is this true ?...setting aside the ancient (or maybe not)....Assuming perfect health.....Does  a 5 year old genuinely heal faster than a 40 year old ? Or is it an illusion of sorts due to a perception thing ?...Has anyone actually ever done a study comparing the healing speed of different generations ?

I did want to conduct some empirical study with my neighbour, some sand paper and a time machine at 3am this morning...but ewe know what ?..I couldn’t be arsed !

so, whajafink ?

Fact or Fiction ?

In the interests of science, I hopped into my time machine, went back a couple of years, and broke both my wrists to see how long they take to heal.

To save Neil the inconvenience of experimenting on his neighbour, I can point out that my dad whose about75 also broke his wrist a while back. It took over a year to heal as well as it's ever going to.
Geezer, may I ask how long your wrists took to recover?
If it's significantly less than a year then we seem to have some evidence supporting the idea that children heal faster.

There is also evidence that they do a lot of things faster. Their heart rates are quicker and they metabolise faster.

I was eleven when I did that, and I think the casts were removed in three weeks and replaced with bandages for another week or so.

Should be OK now. I think we were having a problem with apostrascopes.
