"Real Life" is a jolly little poem.
I happen to be a musical genius - composing & playing - as some here can verify. I would post a link to some of my music I've uploaded to the net but, unfortunately, the link is on a different PC that happens to have gone phut.
-
No special talents from me, I'll just observe.

LOL yeah I've got the topic but somehow the words just aren't coming.
and even if you have no extraordinary talents, you can still talk about other people's work. feel free to comment whenever.

I have a talent for killing threads and hitting submit before I've checked my speeling.

also for letting my baby play on the keyboard and not noticing before I post.
-
Talentless here! LOL!
-

You know you're a talented young writer!
-
Writer?
Do tell! I'm always interested in what new writers have to say about life.
-
I'm bursting with talent but haven't got the ummph to do anything with it. I could conquer the universe if I could find a babysitter.
-
Ah, that conundrum.
What kind of talent, if I may ask?
I have a bunch of helpful links for computer programs that may help.
-

Maybe a little bit. Every time I examine my "talents" I find that they are inferior to someone else with the same talent.

I write plays.
I am very good at put downs but only Oscar Wilde was famous for both of these and then they broke the mould.

Noel Coward was not averse to the occasional put-down.

I guess I'll have to become a gay man then.
-
I thought you were anyway
-
Only at the weekends.
-
Only at the weekends.
Is that when you're called Sharon?
-
No that's when I'm Make it Lady.
-
There's no answer to that. [:I]

Everyone with talent thinks the same, that's what makes them try harder...

It doesn't make me try harder, I wonder why...
Oh that's right, it's probably because I'm worthless.
-
No you're priceless.
-
Not really a talent and more of a pastime as I have not done much for over a year cos I've been trying to do some sci-fi writing.
This is music and a few tracks are here plus a couple of vids if you are registered including a short clip with some music of my snake eggs hatching.

I look forward to reading your writing Professor Gaarder, bookmarked for later [:)]

No you're priceless.
perfectly spoken.
-
No you're priceless.
Priceless people get all A's and can finish a simple 3 mile run.

That's rubbish kid!
Make it Lady & JnA hit the nail on the head! You ARE priceless!
Making straight A's and being able to run long distances, or being athletic is not what makes you special! Being yourself....being Ben is what makes you special!
Stop worrying about other peoples talents and focus on yours! If you want to be better, work at it and don't give up!
......and by the way.....Most of the 'successful' people I know were not straight A students! Most of them were average and some were even below average students!
-
I have found that true also!!!! They are right Ben... and when I look at your writing and the posts you make I see an intelligent bright young man with loads of potential.. and you just need to believe in yourself a bit... give yourself a hug and know that you can do or accomplish anything you want to do...
Do you really want to be a RUNNER OR A WRITTER, OR A MECHANIC...... WHATEVER YOU DECIDE WILL BE TERRIFIC... People will and do love you because you are you... unique and smart and bright... and witty.. Know worries.. You are great!!!

Around here "being Ben" isn't a compliment. "Being Ben" means you an annoying spazz who doesn't know when to shut up.
"Being Ben" means playing video games even though you'll never be good at them. Oh, that reminds me. *Crosses track off the list of things he has a remote chance of being good at.*
Around here, "Being Ben" means, being a loser. I'm either invisable and ignore, or obnoxious and hated. There's no middle of the road.
-
Do you feel that way at home.. or do you mean in the forum??? I enjoy when you are on and feel I annoy the soup out of all you guys...
Ben You should never feel that way.. you are great!
-
Ben, I felt just like you do now when I was 17-20 years old. It takes time sometimes to feel comfortable in your own skin. It is only by; making mistakes, annoying people and trying to do new things that we learn; how to fit in, what we are good at, what we need to work at and eventually to like yourself.
Liking yourself is the toughest because you are more aware of your own failing than others are. when you are young you tend to dwell on them more. You need to be kind to yourself. Any time something goes even slightly right, pat yourself on the back. If you like yourself and are kind to yourself people will start to be kind back.
The talking too much thing is a nervous reaction that we all suffer from. I type too much....you might have noticed.
NC you've had enough mothering for one day. Us ladies better stop before you drown in oestrogen.
-
Can't be kind to myself, then I get weaker. If that's possible.
-
What I mean is don't dwell on things that you do wrong. Learn from the mistakes and celebrate even the smallest success.
-
Yeah I have nothing special at all.
I can just do everything out there, just about. But the problem is I don't have one thing I'm super good at.
Oh well.

Yeah just at our school since I'm like the only kid that plays.
But now people like State go out and get a keyboard and say ah man I'm so much better then you. And he can't do nothing. It's purdy stupid. I'm like just ask me to be in your gay butt band then kid.
-
Do Beavers sing?
Like wounded walruses. It is excruciatingly painful.
-
It is better than being part of Simulated's strange band that probably has George Michael and Boy George in.
-
Yeah I ain't in a band? Even though with all my music stuff I coudl be a one man band :)
-
I think that is advisable if all the rest are, indeed, gay butt bands!!!!
-
Ha yeah
-
Do Beavers sing?
Of course we can. Haven't you ever heard of the famous Hjallfjord Male Beaver Choir?
-
Yes, it is one of the Finnish Choir's of the Devil's demons - as opposed to a Choir of Angels.
-
I think that whether we realise it or not that everyone is talented
in some way or other. I enjoy researching things for others oh and
me too.

They aren't, Kraner is overexagerrating.

Lost my first game in the guitar hero tournament, further proof documented reinforcing two word thesis.
I
suck.
-
NO you don't.. Losing is part of life.. But you won't always loose that is just part of the learning process.. now you can work on what you feel you could improve on.. its all about repetition and learning from previous attempts.. If you give up then The learning stops.. and you are the one in control of what you want to learn and how much you want to learn it or how well you wish to be at what you are doing.. Don't give up on your dreams and wishes and soon they your efforts will reward you.. It just takes time perseverance and belief in your self.. just know you can do it... Learn from the experience and profit from it don't let it eat you alive....

Remember that you are a scientist and that in physics sucking does not exist!
