Title: What are some good compounds I can show in Chemistry class?

My big question is what are some very interesting simple compounds that I could possibly show (with my teacher's help) in my science classes? They can be a show of colours, a nice "boom", ECT.. Just anything that could entice a typical highschool crowd in chemistry class.
