The lochness monster... some people believe that in a lake in Scotland a dinosaur is still alive and swimming around. Lots of tourists go there to see if they can spot it.

I have been to Loch Ness and didn't see anything other than a load of water also mist, rocks, grass. yes the prices were exorbitant.
I think that this one huge con.

Years ago, sometime in the 1960s, when I was climbing in Scotland we were driving back along the road at the side of Loch Ness, opposite Castle Urqhuart, to where we were camping quite late at night and suddenly this huge creature slithered across the road in front of us, causing me to brake suddenly.
It had a small head on a long neck and a large body with flipper-like things where its legs would be; it had a long tapering tail. The body seemed a dark greenish-brown in the headlights and wet looking.
It must have been about 50 feet long though we only saw it just before it slid back into the water and the light was beginning to go, even though it was early June.
We didn't tell anybody about this as we didn't think we'd be believed and this is the first time I've broken silence about this.

I respect your post in that it is very difficult to speak out about something you have seen that goes against what some might believe....
It is amazing to see something as that, and then try to explain what you saw... and havuve others be respectful of it.
I have seen things others would never believe so I keep them to myself for the most part so I admire your honesty...

Many years ago a local circus used to let the elephants swim in lockness. With trunks and backs out of water the shape would be very neesy like from a distance.

Is there any Scientific Proof about the Loch Ness Monster?
Apart from some studies saying that it might be a trapped Sturgeon from the ice age.
But I will always think that it's a myth.

I had to vote that I believed in it a little bit because there is clearly some sort of phenomenon occurring. However, it remains to be discovered whether this phenomenon is due to a real creature or just something about the place that induces hallucinations in people, or makes them want to tell stories about monsters.
Blakestyger's story is very similar to a few others I've heard, but like many of the other stories there are some bits of it that seem inconsistent or unclear. I'm not suggesting that Blakestyger is making this up but just that way he has said it leaves some things unclear and open to clarification.

Here are a few things that perhaps Blakestyger can clarify:

Ok, presumably you saw the creature crossing the road to get to the loch*. The road must have been bordered by trees or bushes, or had banks running along each side of it because otherwise you would have seen it before it reached the road, even if the road was not straight. Were you on a straight stretch of road and did you see it emerge on to the road, or had you just rounded a bend in the road and saw it already halfway across?
Having flippers, and not feet, it wouldn't have been able to support its body above the ground but would have had to slide it's body over the ground in the same way that turtles move on a beach. The problem this raises is that while turtles are able to dig their hardened flippers in to the sand to gain traction, and their hardened carapace will slide over the sand without too much friction, the creature you saw would not have been able to dig its flippers in to the road surface but would have had to just rely upon friction for its grip. The issue is then; could the grip it could achieve with its flippers, using just friction, overcome the friction of its body against the road surface? It seems to me that, on a hardened surface, it might not be able to move at all, let alone be able to move quickly.
You also say that it looked wet, but if it was heading towards the loch, even if it had only been out of water for a few minutes, it would have probably only looked damp at best. As it was during June, and even though it might not have been very hot/warm, I don't think there could have been enough water still on its body to make it look 'shiny'. This doesn't mean that it doesn't have a naturally shiny body, although the only naturally shiny animals I think of off-hand are covered in scales. You don't mention seeing these though.
Did you get out of the car and have a look around after you'd stopped? This would be the natural thing for me to do in these circumstances (although I can understand it if you just high-tailed it out there). If you did, what did you discover?

As to Nessie, sorry to disappoint but I think that it is a MYTH. And always will/have done so.
