Title: How can we help children struggling with reading?

Children who struggle to learn to read can be helped by a new interactive programme, "Moved By Reading." Art Glenburg at the Arizona State University explains how visually manipulating characters and objects in a story can help the child connect the written words, their sounds and the context of the story.

Chris -   And this is something that we do as adults intuitively.  We’ve kind of learned just naturally to do that.  So, when we read something, we’re seeing pictures in our own mind to decode what's going on, and we don’t even notice we’re doing it.

Probably explains why we have a hard time with abstract concepts like math, hard to visualize a lot of this stuff.
