Gravity.................
Gravity pulls all the surrounding material towards a central point causing the accumulation of matter to form in a spherical shape. However, the earth is not a perfect sphere because the rotation gives rise to centrifugal force causing the equator to bulge outward. For this reason, the diameter around the equator is greater than the dia drawn by intersecting the poles. The speed of rotation at the equator is approx. 1000 miles per hour.

Planets aren't cubes because you would fall of the edge if they were. Possibly breaking your neck on a turtle shell.

If someone finds a cube planet I will have to revise my views on atheism.
There's no way the laws of physics would make a planet that shape.

It's all about geometry...
It's highly unlikely to find any square planets out there. Geometry places each planet we have seen within great accuracies of being near-spherical. The natural mechanisms of the universe, such as from the strong force to that of gravity to the macroscopic influences, gravity appeals to be attractive and thus to highlight was has been said, they come together inwards rather than having a cubic dimensions. Can i say, this is a hint that special and general relativity where right that we don't quite see things normally concerning time. In fact, General relativity can be so bold to propose that the very presence of you talking a trip around the three dimensionsional (near-sphere) of the earth is a presence of a physical dimension of time.

By definition, any object that is not a reasonable spheroid does not qualify as a planet. No dogs either.
