Im looking for a book/journal that contains some anatomical data on dinosaurs, especially in regards to skulls. Ive started to pick up sketching again, and have always had a bit of a passion for the Mesozoic beasties. Ive found a few free journal articles (which I REALLY like), but the actual journal subscriptions all seem to cost a pretty penny. Basically, Im looking to flesh out dino's from their skeletal structure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Again...journals, textbooks, popular science books, websites...whatever! I need more skulls!

I have a "courtesy" borrower's library card for the University of Texas Library as the geology Library is one of the best in the world - it is HUGE!!!!! - half a million volumes in the Geology library alone - and this doesn't include the Bureau of Economic Geology (state survey equivelent part of the university) or the Institute for Geophysics Library, or the Paleontology Laboratory Research Center Library, etc.
As an little bonus, and most schools now have this, there is an resource that I believe most libraries now subscribe to - it is a search engine of the published scientific journals that allows one to search the journals selected and then retrieve articles from them on-line. It is there as subscriptions to the journals have become so expensive (esp. those published by Elsivier) that even Libraries cannot afford to subscribe to all of them.
Were I not so bleary eyed and trying to wake up I would look it up and get the name but I need to get more caffeine in me and I need to clean up and go spend a lot of money on my business today - scanner-printer needed.
SO - Ask your librarian.

Ill try the local county library, I think they should have a decent journal collection. Unfortunately, my college is pretty sparse in the area of geosciences...I cant wait to get to a larger university. I was really surprised with the journal subscription prices, especially the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology (almost $700 just for access to ONE years worth of material...and you still had to pay for each year of backlog that you wanted). Im glad the AGU gives a student discount. I think I paid $30 for Geophysical Research Letters, and I get all issues back to 1974 (or whatever year the publication started). Thanks again for the help!

Aren't you thinking of coming to UT? If so and are in town sometime I'll take you to lunch with the former Director of the VP Lab at ht eBalconecs Research Center of UT and professor emeritus of Vert. Paleo at UT. Great guy who love to educate and mentor people. He is still hitting it hard at 80 and full of - well, to put a nice term on this family website - "beans". Funny guy and a Rhodes scholar to boot. Just let me know and we will set something up.
Heck - if you don't live in Crane, Texas or Plainview, we could do it whenever you get out of school and get a chance to come to Austin. Send me you email by clicking on my account info. I have a nice futon couch. And free food for guests!
