Title: Do people who wear glasses have more or less sensitive skin under their eyes?
Post by: Brent on 12/02/2009 10:30:02
Brent asked the Naked Scientists:

Do people who wear glasses have more or less sensitive skin under their eyes?  Maybe due to light refractions? Or does it matter at all?

I love your show (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/), I listen to your podcast (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) every week!!
What do you think?

Don't think it'll make a difference.

Some types of glass do block UV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet#Natural_sources_of_UV), so depending on the type of glass used in the spectacles,
the skin around the eye could be less tanned/aged by UV: shielded by the glass lenses.
