Title: Muscle Enhancement Through Electronic Means
Post by: Voxx on 08/05/2012 06:40:20
Now I will not pretend i know what i'm talking about, but I'm writing a book and one of the characters is an "Electro-Master."  This entails the ability to manipulate, enhance, and control electrons, electromagnetic, and magnetic fields.

Now how i deduced this (I have no background in what i'm talking about xD) is:

Your bones act as a support for your muscle, vanes, and tendons.  You move your body by chain chemical reactions that create or generate electrical outbursts which stimulate the muscle.  Like i said I have no idea what i'm talking about, but I "think" that adrenalin creates a more potent reaction and in turn allows you to over stress your muscles beyond their normal capacity.

What I'm getting at is, if someone can enhance or even provide their own electrical impulse could they accomplish something similar to the effect of adrenalin?

Now if what I said makes you laugh or pity me I understand.  xD  I would like to be corrected and know what or if any of my proclamations are correct; and if not, how what I'm looking for could be accomplished.

Thank You

Okay, okay, so.

Paraplegics have tried electronic stimulation to attempt to maintain muscle strength and bone density.  I  believe the results of the electronic stimulation is less than "normal", but much better than nothing.

I've been reading a bit more about subjects involving this "character" I've created and what his/her abilities could entail.

Bioelectromagnetics:  I understand that living cells emit a weak electromagnetic field and this is how some animals can navigate.  I also understand that by producing an electromagnetic field to muscle could relax and sooth it.  Correct?

What about being able to sense or detect these bioelectric fields?  Could you have a sort of built in life signs detector?

Some mammals are able to navigate using the earths magnetic field.  What could a human that could sense these fields accomplish?

I think that your eyes would have to be biologically made for it, but could she/he see through electrophotography?

Now if this character were to use his/her ability to enhance their muscles I would imagine it would put a lot of strain on not only the muscle, but the bone (As its support), tendons and vanes?  Would it be only a short burst and would make you extremely fatigued?
