Title: Why don't I wake myself up when I snore?

Hi there.  

My wife always complain about my snoring.

She says it sounds like a lion giving birth to an elephant(?)

Anyway, if the sound is so loud how can I sleep without waking up every 5 seconds by the sound of my own snoring?

Good question. Would it attract predators though, or ward them off?
