Title: Where do you go to when you need to think?
Post by: Make it Lady on 08/08/2009 22:27:34: It seems that our great thinkers and scientists often made breakthroughs when they themselves took a break. I often go and have a bath to ponder things. I also find sitting on a balcony overlooking the sea helps a lot. What about you lot?

It is not wholly reliable though, otherwise that anti-gravity machine and infinite energy source would be mine :-)

Now that I live in urban Australia, I go to a little Italian bistro down the street, listen to my ipod, sip my coffee.

It's 2 minutes from my house.

I wish they were 2 minutes from my house.

If I can't find a place at home I'll just get in the car and drive somewhere. I'll usually just park it and ponder therein.

It's a place called High and Over in between Alfriston and Seaford, it overlooks the Cuckmere Valley. I am lucky living where I do.

Post by: pmb00cs on 11/08/2009 06:45:05: It doesn't matter where I am physically, I can think anywhere, but doing so involves me retreating into my own little fantasy world in my head so that I cannot be disturbed.

It's been a long time since I needed to go somewhere specific to think.

My problem isn't thinking. My problem is not thinking. I'll let you know when I have a solution to that one.

Post by: Karen W. on 11/08/2009 13:48:31: I do my heavy contemplation in the shower and like pmb00cs my trouble is not thinking it is trying to not be thinking constantly! But if I have particular problem the shower for relaxing, crying, and deep thinking, and contemplation is the place for me.

Too much thinking keeps me from sleeping on many many occasions!
