Title: Does not watching TV make you more creative?

More creative, intelligent, imaginative?  I wonder what Einstein would say about modern TV..... and would all those amazing theories he came up with have even happened if he did watch things like Soap Operas?  Does Stephen Hawkins watch TV?

I definitely belive TV keeps people from doing more relevant, educating and important things, no doubt about it! I do it myself aswell. The intelectual level of todays TV is frightingly low. with some rare exceptions of course.

Many people say they like to watch a Soap at the end of a hard days work as a way to unwind (Although a particular one I can think of seems to  involve 'cockneys' balling at one another for 30 minutes non-stop!?)...
I'd like to know if this supposedly cathartic process allows them to 'reset' their cognitive centres as effectively as, say, listening to music or doing something artistic... ?

If these soap opera's are supposed to be true-to-life, as their fans seem to suggest, why is it that they do not depict the en mass exodus to the goggle box to watch their favourite soap opera?

I think that much of the content of today's broadcasts is a load of mind numbing garbage. Would this make it a good means of achieving a relaxed state of mind?
