How about that certain species of sea slug which has its mouth below its anus? That's pretty unlucky!
-
How about these things called humans I've heard of?

Neil - I'm surprised you are still living!! Or that you have brain cells, cause I would have smacked them out of your head long ago if I were her.

Is not luck and unluck a matter of perception - rather a question of whether the glass is half full or half empty.

You should be grateful she's being creative in the kitchen! If you had to have the same every day, of even worse, think of ... fast food.. ....... [xx(]
I think I'd consider the most unfortunate animal *this*

I am assuming this relates to my comment about unluckiness being subjective.
Let me give an example - if an animal gets run over by a car, but makes a full recovery - then do you consider him unlucky in relation to all the animals that never got run over, or do you consider him lucky in relation to all the animals that got run over but did not make a full recovery?
There are plenty of news stories I have seen that labelled an animal (or person) to be the luckiest animal/person ever, because something potentially terrible befell them, but they had no ill effects from it.

Well with Christmas looming in, I suspect the turkey might get the prize, especially if the influenza bug gets to them first. Or the battery chicken, imagine laying eggs perpetually only to be put in dog food when you fail to produce an egg.
What about the farm animals, out in all weather, first sign of a runny nose and along comes the man with the white coat to slaughter your whole family?
Or the song birds in cages frantically singing their hearts out for a lover, hearing replies from equally anxious mates suspended on other balconies in Spain but never allowed to meet each other?
-
How about the baby gazelle who gets eaten by a lion as soon as it's born;
Intestinal worms that never see the light of day;
The mayfly , which only lives for 24 hours...........?

The mayfly , which only lives for 24 hours...........?
Yes, but could not a giant turtle, with an average life span of 100 years, and examples known to live for 152 years, not have pity upon mere man, who has an average lifespan of only about three score and ten years.
