OK, so all you chemists are feeling a little left out; ‘Not enough questions being asked on matters chemical’ you are saying. I pondered this and came to the conclusion that you are right and therefore chemistry must be boring. Strange, as a school boy I always found it second only to biology (snigger).(https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Flol%2F4.gif&hash=dc0017defb1737ae43c0ff6efcb35b2a)
So I put on my thinking cap. Since thinking isn’t my forte, I found it doesn’t fit too well any more as it is my old school cap. The best I could come up with was this: What happens when you whack a few kilos of glycerine in a winchester of concentrated nitric acid? Hmmm, best not, someone might try it!
Right, here’s a simple starter for ten (in a Jerry-can Packman voice). What do you think is the most useful piece of equipment in the chemist’s lavatory labratory? Is it the simple test tube, the Liebig condenser (do you still use them?), the centrifuge? Or is it the fume cupboard into which you can lock the spotty young lav lab technician who saunters in the morning after a powerful curry exhaling eye watering halitosis from one end of his alimentary canal and venting something akin to the rotting corpse of a rat from the other?
I’ll try to think of summat a tad more taxing and interesting when I can find a new school cap which fits.

Well, how kind of you to help out!

Come back when you get a new cap.

Neither have I after setting light to Anderson's blazer in the 5th form. Well, it was called a BLAZER!

...and some people think my threads are loony!!!
Personally I think you can't beat a good titration, so a burette is my instrument of choice. I also like a bit of reflux. Very useful.
