Title: What is your Ideal date?
Post by: Mirage on 18/08/2006 18:24:22
I like to think of myself as a romantic sort, mainly because of the way I was brought up, I like to do all that I can to ensure the girl has had a wonderful time and hopefully memorable.

My ideal date would consist of a lovely dinner (would have to be in a restaurant as beans on toast is not that romantic apparently!!!), a few drinks in a nice bar with some chilled music, if it's a nice evening a romantic walk. Then to finish it all off escort the girl home and hopefully recieve a good night kiss.

So what say you all?

Some days it's not even worth knawing at the straps

have her pick me up,

get a greasy kebab (she pays)..

send her into the Offy to get some lager (she pays) all the time she is gracious and compliant..

sorts me out in the back seat...then takes me home and leaves me her car so that she has to walk.

Now that's romance !

I prefer without the music as I prefer not to be distracted from the conversation with the perosn I was with.  I would just as soon follow the dinner with a walk in the park, and there per chance to come upon a band playing in the park.  But then, I'm strange, so it doesn't count for much.

Something spontaneous and not the usual suits me...hot air balloon riding, reading at the fountains, going to a poetry read, walking in Chinese Garden, etc...

Soft music, nice conversation and maybe a nice walk in the evening. I like the woods, so maybe a picnic in the woods with all the little squirrells and critters scurrying about!

As a male, I must concur whole-heartedly, for this is a dream date that full-fills some large degree of desire - for a few hours only. There are then the other hours in a day, or at least breakfast. If the breakfast consist of embaresed bits of verbal mutterings, the prior evening becomes a mixture of positive and negative emotional recollections - not a composite memory of exquisete bliss. Besides, loose morals does not mean a learned and skilled partner in bed.

The only way around these difficulties of a youthful life is to find a woman (or if a woman, a man) of intellegence, with a joy in living and exhibiting a total recovory from Calvanistic or Popeish sexual guilt. Knowing how to please ones partner is important here. But for me, the most important aspect is the intellegence and the ability to amuse one another for more than a night. That delight lasts for a long time, even after the "ice cream" has melted.

When just being in the person's company is a joy, sex becomes MUCH less important.

Read Ben Franklin's letter to his nephew on the choice of a mistress.

I am to the point in life where talking is about all that matters. It is unfortunate, but it does happen. [V]

I think for me,

a coffee in a coffee bar at lunchtime with a cake or a cookie to break the ice with a smile and some daylight in a busy mall before dinner that evening is good.

i love the sea, so perhaps a sea side rendezvous first then park the car  half a kilometer away and walk to the restaurant along the shore.

Dinner in a quiet but not too quiet restaurant. It is so nice to share the ambiance of a romantic restaurant with a date.

A corner perhaps inside with a view of the sea and the stars, maybe if the weather allows, we could take our dessert and have it on the beach !

Then, perhaps we get coffee to go and sit down with our feet being tickled by the shore line, then.,the walk back to the car, and a stolen kiss so treasured beneath the stars, with the sea lapping at our feet. then holding hands back to the car. A slow drive home, a kiss goodnight.

i think that is a nice thing to do.

My head is not what it used to be.

Will you take me out on a date and make me feel whole again? [;)]

That sounds wonderful though, very romantic, and in some ways very private.

another_someone, I know what you mean about the music side, but the last date I went on I took my ex to a jazz bar which generally has some really good live groups. It just so happened that the live group were amazing and made the night just that little bit more perfect.

But on the whole music can ruin some dates or can save your life when you can't hear what she is saying so you just end up getting very drunk and running off as you would rather spend the night cleaning the bathroom.......not that I have ever done that.....never go on blind dates though......

Hi Carolyn you and the stud have been married a long time, thats nice to hear. These days marrages never seem to last more than a few years.

While me and the wife were dating back in 85 her pet name for me was horny, we also got married in september, the 22nd (i think [:)]) six months after we first met.

Hmmm.  Hi Michael.  I can just imagine how you got that nick name.  I refuse to give up my pet name.  Yes, we've been married a long time.  Wasn't always easy, but if it's worthwhile it usually isn't.  The hard times only made our bond stronger.

We met on his birthday in August (I was the best present he ever got).  Were engaged a few months later, and married a few months after that.  Had our first child 8 months later.  REALLY, SHE WAS A MONTH PREMATURE.  At least thats what we told our parents.

How long have you been married?  Based on what you've written about her in the past, she sounds like a lot of fun.

Back to subject (sorry).

I went on a really nice non-date recently.
We met in the park near Waterloo and drank a bottle of chilled white wine. It was beautifully sunny and warm with a gentle breeze. We then walked all along South Bank and over the wobbly bridge to St Pauls, stopping for a time to listen to a busker play acoustic guitar by the river.

It was bliss- felt like I was in a dream.

How sweet, brings to mind the one really swwet time he was romantic for my birthday right after our honeymoon! GAWWWWD WAS FOREVER AGO!!
We were in SAn francisco my first time... we were riding a cable car down this really steep hill, he bailed off and ran back up the hill, leaveing me paniced on the car, he disappeared and then came back into veiw running as fast as he could downthis huge hill.. when he reaced the back in of the car I seen he has a single red rose and babies breath gripped between his teeth, as he pulled himself back onto the moving cable car.... IT was so sweet. Never happened again.. maybe thats why it is a strong memory!!! I missed that!! Sorry must change subject as am too emotional about losses and trust and marraige!

Well to me it was, she was somewhat 'perfect'. But then she went on holiday after telling me she was too independant and didn't want a relationship. Must have been a great holiday though, she brought a boyfriend back with her. Didn't realise you could get something like that from duty free [;)]

We remained friends. She's currently in Africa doing some graphic job.

That's alot more romantic than my past boyfriend attempts, I got to the point I stopped dating for 12 years! I decided to wait for the right one, or happily stay single. I've found as I've got older I'm quite comfortable with my own company and I have lots of lovely people to talk to such as yourselves when I need a good ole chat [:D]

Romance is nice but I prefer compatibility. Both my hubby and I aren't what you call socialites, we both are quiet, love to study, and love to spend time on our own, and cuddly walks together. Pretty boring really, but it's perfect for me and him.
And of course there is the other area which he is Ohh so good [:p]

This time when I dated I decided to be myself and not try to be what the other person wanted me to be, that was a first for me.

Amazingly he seems to me warts and all. Well not warts but definately stretch marks , lol

It was only wobbly for a weak or so - and you had to join the queue to get across it because they were strictly limiting numbers, so as to limit the wobble - and the bridge being new, there were lots of people curious to try it out.

I was working in the area at the time, and met up with a friend during the lunch hour just after they had opened the bridge, and she was very keen to try the newly opened bridge, so we spent about 15-20 minutes queuing just to walk across it.

Oh, yeah...fantabulous!  Great day at work!  Working with RPM on some stretch goals for people as I am stretched to the limit and she says Memphis, TN is a lot of work as she had no idea what I went through on that property..hehe  She is hiring 2 more people to go there for me instead of her...uh...she survived Little Rock, Independence, St. Louis and will return next week...she states she can't do this????  Hmmm...hehe  I did ask her for a raise today...(especially since she challenged me as they did Saturday...met their challenges...I wish they would find another specialist to pick on...geez...LOL

I like someone who can get pissed on cheap cider and just generally have a laugh. When i met my partner i took her to a park and we just sat there getting drunk on White Star cider.  I can't handle all that restaurant nonsense, it's just not me.

Sorry, my idea of an embarassing waste of time - but then, each to his/her own.

Restaurant or no restaurant, I do like to at least be able to talk to the person I am with, and get to know them a bit.

I thought it was more to do with testosterone, and thus supposedly related to sex drive (and potentially, if the testosterone levels were high in the embryo – although the two do not necessarily correlate, then it may reflect higher IQ).

Post by: Mirage on 25/09/2006 22:21:16
After listening to a few somewaht soppy songs I had a thought.

If I could do it, more than likely with the help of a couple of mates.

One a lovely warm evening I would take the girl for a walk, either in a lovely park or garden, possibly by the water with light reflecting off it. Just chatting enjoying the conversation. I would of had my friends set up a little table, with a small marquee tent with fairy lights all around it. A couple of candles on the table all set up for dinner. There we could chat and have dinner by the water, away from everything. Have some soft music playing that we could end dinner with a slow dance.

Probably a better idea for a later date or anniversary

Dan, when you meet the right girl and decide it's for keeps that would be a lovely, romantic way to ask her! If you're the right man for her she won't be able to resist.

I agree with you Gaia, would be a lovely way to pop the question......maybe someday.

Karen, Lo, I have my faults like anyone else, but maybe it's something about me that isn't overly appealing, but I'm fine with that, some girl will like me for me, faults included. But until that time I'm gonna shake my arse and dry hump you all [;)] [:X]

Ahh, sometimes I believe that could be just so. But the main group of girls that I have gone for have either never spoken to me/lost contact with me or think of me more of a friend or actually one of my favourites, I was a warm up, and afterwards she realised that she did want a relationship just not with me.

I think my main problem is that girls tend to like me as a friend more than anything else. Oh well, I have a lot of friends who are girls and they have friends [;)]

Problem!! [?] [:0]

Sometimes you don't quite realise that you like someone at the beginning, and so by the time that you do, you're stuck, trapped with the title of friend. [:(]

Granted sometimes it can work out better when both sides realise that there could be something, or something great.....hasn't happened to me yet.......but it's still early, well actually it's quite late, 19:30 here [;)]

That last post of mine I must claim fatigue as I don't even know who or what I was talking about when I said no problem! I suspect I posted it in wrong thread, as I was using word for some of my answering.. last night ... I do appologise and am sorry!![:X][:X][:X]I truely do understand how getting put in the place of a friend can make it more difficult to ever move forward and be the lover although not impossible as you need to be friends also!! I hope it works out for you  one of these days...

Loretta, he has your best interest at heart!!
Gaia, thanks for your concern and I did just that and took the meds and went outside to the soccer game.. My migrain has ceased, I think me caught it earl as it is very rare that I can nip it in the bud so early and have it go away instead of getting worse!! I feel gret now , just a little stuffy which could have instigated the migrain to begin with!!

Thanks for concern.. glad to say its gone, as I hate them. I used to get them about three or so times a week for a while, but I think my weight and my bloodpressure were partly to blame. I hardly get them now that I have taken off 102 lbs.. I feel way better!!

You will have many nights like that but each one will be different as you both get to know each other. Just make sure you have fun and do fun stuff together play games TALK.. Share your dreams...your hopes and just remember you will both always need to be friends no matter what or where your relationship takes you..

Karen..Kayla said I know 99.9% about her. That .1% can't be that bad can't it? And I told her she knows 100% of me execpt stuff that I forget and are more and less useless. Like I used to live in Cridersville. LoL.
Title: What is your Ideal date?
Post by: Karen W. on 06/08/2007 15:40:57
Yes its good to get to know each other. it is a really special thing to know someone really well and understand how their mind works, sometimes it is also a disadvantage because you may tend to overlook things because you know how they are... but remember to always retain your self...and allow her to do the same. Just because we know someone so well we should not assume we know all. We all grow and change so we each have to adapt .. you won't always agree, but you can still exist together as individuals and it is alright to retain individualities as the differences are what make the relationships so exciting and wonderful!

Question..How was that related to the 99.9%? LoL. Sorry between pain and more and more pain and hungry and drinking water and icing and heating and other stuff I'm missing a lot. And taht .1% is something that she said she isn't going to tell me for a while, but she is saying that's of stuff that I'm glad she is telling me.
Title: What is your Ideal date?

Just that she is keeping part of herself private that is cool. When she is comfortable or wants to let you know she will.

Right, saying "we'll always be friends" always lessens the pain at the Inevitable End. Or so i've heard.

Pehaps this technique will lengthen the relationship. Communication smoothes over lots of things.

That is not true...The pain remains real.. but sometimes the alternative is much worse...

Communication doesn't smooth things over but helps to resolve the problems that come up anyway!

Yes Ryan BUT I was talking about going for walks sharing thoughts, listening, seeing a movie, going to a concert, a picnic, sitting in a meadow and watching the clouds move overhead. play board games, build something together.. work together on a fun sculpture or write a poem together. Just share things together there is more to love then kissing hugging or the progression of the two, which you should wait on.. in my humble opinion.. as feelings and such need to mature first.. on many levels..

LOL Ryan I cannot tell you what to do.. or how to do things only make some suggestions to try to let you know there is a lot to love besides making it! You know what I mean.. Give your friend space give your friend trust, that doesn't mean your not human if you ever show doubt or feel jealous, just remember why you care about that person and those things will disappear...Be kids and enjoy that because with love comes a huge responsibility that some young people most of them are not ready for quite frankly. There will be plenty of time to be in love and then the responsibility is not easy.... Hormones and emotions at your age are usually very intense and it is sometimes very hard to control.. but you need to be patient and have fun be kids while you have the chance.. There will be plenty of adult feelings and responsibilities to come.. be careful, Be a responsible teen  behave and be good.. LOL MY 5 B's...

You me will be the only guys there!

Just kidding. Sure, parties are good. Social Contract A is more flexible then you think.

I'm reasonably sure only the guys will talk to me though. Just like every other time.

No seriously. In public, Kayla, Tiffany, and Courtney only talk to you.

Wait...only in public...

Ahh, I see. That explains a lot.

Date with sex I think  :D
Seriously, it's been a long time since I went out with a girl. Communicate usually on the Internet on Dating sites, using similar reviews - hookupmasters.com/adult-dating-sites/xcheaters-review/ or Tinder. Why do I use such reviews? A lot of fake accounts, unfortunately, do not want to spend time communicating with bots or other men.

It depends on what do you mean by the ideal date. If you mean favorite or lucky I would say that it is my birth date.

I sure hope so. I wanna see if I can have her and few of her friends and mine before school. All of those people because dad won't let me alone with just her for some reason. I wonder why? :P But I ain't like that.

My ideal date is skinned and rolled in sugar. I get them at the supermarket. They're delicious.
