Post by: neilep on 24/07/2007 23:34:04
Dearest Peeps of International Academical Pie ( hmm..there's a film title in there somewhere)

See this hand...nice isn't it ?...notice the Raymond Weil watch (gold) and the silver rings !

Well, apparently there's just not gold and silver on the outside of my body but also on the inside !

yes..this is true !!

But why is there gold and silver inside me and you ?...what purpose does it serve ?
would I become ill without it ?...what other precious metals are inside us ?..why ?..how ?

Sparkle me with the incandescence of your precious answers.

thanks

Gold and silver (and pretty much every other natural occurring element) is part of our environment, so it will inevitably also be part of us.  There is gold and silver in sea water (not much, but there is some), so there would be some within us.  There is mercury and uranium in your body too (particularly, the latter, since the start of the nuclear age).

Many metals do have a use in our bodies (e.g. chromium is in vitamin B12), but I don't know if there is a specific necessity for gold and silver in our bodies (although silver has long been used as an anti-bacterial agent), or if it is merely tolerated - I suspect the latter.
