Nothing to do with anything science, but hoping someone might help me out here... The printed text inside a greeting card is almost always in the middle of the right side. Particularly when the text is the punchline to the joke on the front of the card, should I keep all of my own writing below the text, leaving a huge space at the top...or write both above and below the text and risk distracting the reader's attention from the punchline? I could possibly write on the left side of the card, but it doesn't seem quite right to me.
...or am I just thinking about this too much?
What do you guys think?

If you want to write your own message, it might be better to use a card that does not have its own message in it (it is not that difficult to find cards without any message).
-
It depends on how much you want to write. If its very long, then by all means write on the left side of the card.
If it's just a few lines, write it just below the text on the inside of the card.
.....and yes, you're overthinking it. [;D]

Yup, I agree with Carolyn 100%..
Even that last sentence she wrote [;D]

I always write on the RHS. I put the 'TO' bit above the text and the 'FROM' bit under the text. If it is a joke card people will naturally ignore your bit until they have laughed themselves silly at the amazing wit of these people that are employed to make card jokes. How can I get a job like that. It sounds like a doss to me.

I would love to write greeting cards.. LOL!
I also do the same in writing on my cards as does Make it lady!

Lol alrighty. Thank you everyone! I did realise I was overthinking it...but that still didn't bring me any closer to deciding where to write. :) Anyway, I've gone with putting everything under the text on the RHS.

I don't know why we write a 'to/dear' bit.. they know their name.
while we are at it what is the time limit for keeping cards? I go three days then they get binned...

I have mine up for a couple of weeks as it makes me feel loved.
