Haya all, Luk I got this question passed on to me n I was wondering if u can help me answer it,
Who "the hell" Invented the "****ing" password???[?]
As you can see she was abit annoyed, she had just forgot her email password... [:p]
Anyway, do u ppl know who did invent the password or the idea of the password?

I invented the password!!! Wait, don't believe me? Just look at this! ****! hahahaaa... In reality, I think government officials back in the old days developed passwords as a way of keeping track of truth. People who would enter councils and tribunals required some sort of passphrase to be enter the group discussion. This was especially prevalent in times of war when discussions on conquest were especially sensitive.
;) that's my guess anyways.

The earliest example of a password that comes to my mind, albeit in a somewhat reversed form, is a daub of lambs blood on the door lintel.
Symbols expressing authority have existed for a very long time.
I don't think you're going to have much luck finding the "inventor" of the concept.

I think you'll find they go back at least to the ancient Greeks. There's mention of a password in the Iliad.
