I bet this topic has come up before numerous times but can't find any of the threads. I have almost no idea how genetics works and I have just made a post on Jon Ronson's forum (http://www.jonronson.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=46512#46512) in a thread about storing the human genome as computer data where I suggest that there are other things beyond the genome that make us who we are, including:
1) mitochondrial DNA
2) bacteria and stuff
3) neural circuitry
I would love to know more about this. I'll put a link back to this thread from the Jon Ronson forum (where I am known as 'Space Adventures').
