Title: What are smart materials, and how do they work?

 Hi everyone,

 i am new here and will like to know what are the other sources to look up to for information on them?

 The types of smart materials i am interested in will be the magnetic shape memory alloys, chromogenics.
 
 If possible, their manufacturing process as well.
