I thought that was pretty cool !...Do you know how high it went and how far away was it from you when it landed ?...You were lucky that it missed that busy road....Good job !

Excellent video, if you own the copyright I’d put a visible watermark (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_watermarking) on it if I were you.

The watermark could be the URL of your website

I have seen similar images these videos before. There is a website describing the project somewhere.

the balloons get right up into the stratosphere before they burst and the equipment parachutes down.

http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/physics/news/edge-of-space-project  this is a UK project and not the same video as at the top but has more details about the sort of kit used.  It is truly amazing what can be done with off he shelf kit these days.

Thanks! I calculated about 85-90 thousand feet and it landed 80 miles away from the launch site.

The fact that you did this was missed. Very cool stuff.

Actually it reminds me of an article I read about hackers trying to create their own hackerspace program by launching their own satellites into space and tracking them through (relatively) simple ground stations. I imagined most of these would be via weather balloons. They were thinking of tracking the location with what amounts to reverse-GPS: they get the location of the ground stations through GPS, and then use that data to find out where the satellites are in space.

Was this something you could track while its at the edge of space?

Yes. I put my cell phone inside as well and tracked it using my phones GPS feature.

Yea, truly a great video and project, respect! Though a real scientist would use the metric system :P
(Just teasing you of course)

Astounding. Brilliant. Well done. I am a cynical old bastard, but every aspect of your project from inception to reporting is just first rate. I would wish you luck, but with application like that you do not need it.
