Title: Why are universal constants the same for different reference frames?
Post by: pushkar on 02/04/2010 08:04:41
why the value of universal constants involving dimensions of length ,time and mass is the same in the moving frame and stationary frame

MOD EDIT - ONCE AGAIN, YOU HAVE STARTED A THREAD WITHOUT USING A QUESTION IN THE SUBJECT BOX - THE BOX SAYS "YOUR QUESTION" - KINDLY PUT A QUESTION IN THERE IN FUTURE. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS AS YOUR FINAL WARNING.

 Quite interesting
Universal constants are constants in all dimension which differ in all frames ...

Can you please elaborate the question?

hi raghavendra
is the value of constants like Plancks constant ,permittivity etc. is the same in moving frame and stationary frame?

If these constants were not the same in all frames of reference then they would not be constants.  What this shows is that there is no absolute frame of reference against which all other frames of reference should be compared; frames of reference can only be relative.

That these constants do appear to be the same in all frames of reference is evidence for the concept/theory of relativity being true.

Principle of relativity: all inertial frames of reference are mechanically equivalent. So those constants are the same by definition of inertial frame of r.
