Dearest Huggable Peeps Of Academic Might ! (gosh, ewe're all so fab..yes...YOU are !!)
As a sheepy I of course luff eggs, I luff em scrambled, poached, fried and omlettised, I especially like fertilising them too !
Look here's Henri Montague trying to figure out the birds and the bees !!

"Watch out Henri, there's a Colonel in Kentucky who's got his eye on ewe"
I was wondering if hens lay their eggs at the same time each day ?...do Hens eventually synchronize their egg laying times with each other like girlies do with their "special times "...or do hens just lay their eggs at any old time with no thought about coming together in a grand egg laying fest ?
As a firm believer in empirical study I went and asked my neighbour at 3am this morning. He'd recently returned from a long trip so I knew he'd be glad to see me as we're bestest super chums. He was kind enough to let me use his two frozen chickens I found in his freezer . Well, he certainly didn't complain despite the masking tape over his gob. So, with his lack-of-protest I proceeded to stick some eggs up his egg hole...I couldn't get Hen eggs, only Ostrich ones !..anyway, with a lot of effort on my part and five eggs later I sat him between the two chickens !... Clearly this study is long term as 6 hours later there was no sign of synchronicity at all !..He's egging me on to continue as there are tears of joy in his eyes !
In the mean time, perhaps ewe can assist this albumen asking sheepy with his eggquiry *le groan*
A special dog egg will be dispatched as a thank ewe through my neigbours letterbox for every comment this post receives !

Shell I give you and eggsample, white before your eyes? Or is this a yoke?
-
I don't know the answer but frights or moving house can upset their egg laying pattern. My neighbours hens lay small eggs with no yolk when the helicopters from Wallop air base fly over. I like eggy facts so will be interested if anyone can give the answer. I can't ask my chicken keeping neighbour as she has just moved away. She as gone somewhere with less helicopters which is sad. I was taking the odd egg for my breakfast, but no more.

Our two Light Sussex hens, Clover and Lupin, appear to lay in the morning. Sometimes one will rush out of the coop, ignoring its breakfast, and rush off to lay an egg.
We usually find their daily output by lunchtime.

I had no idea that a startled hen will lay an egg with no yolk !!...what's that all about ?
fascinating !....
hmmm....methinks there could be a revenue stream available here for peeps who require just egg white omelets....but...not at the cost of startling hens though !
