Title: Why is a good cuppa so refreshing?
Post by: DoctorBeaver on 12/08/2007 23:56:49
What is it about a cup of tea that bucks you up so well? No matter how hot the day, a good cuppa is so refreshing and satisfying.

As most of you may know, I'm a coffee addict (only 30-40 cups per day now since I've cut down); but coffee doesn't refresh me the way tea does.

Really... Do you ever sleep.. LOL.. I shouldn't say anything.. Too much caffeine gives me hives. If I am tired I can drink a cup of coffee or two and still go to sleep on a sleepy night! I only have one cappacino in the morning... usually sometimes I skip it and have juice just depends!

Water, in general, cleans blood; hot water cleans liver. I don't know if there is also a similar effect due to the substances dissolved in the tea.

Surely by the time the water reaches the liver it's been cooled to body temperature !!..No ?..yes ?

But here we are used to inject hot water directly inside the liver  [;)]
Apart from jokes, I think if you don't drink just small amounts of water, its temperature don't go down to body's temperature so fast, and should still be a bit hotter when it reach the liver.

Does that help to flush out a liver that may have say to much medication or other toxin???

IDK, but I drink it when it is just short of scalding, and that whole feeling just feels good! But I get bucked up by the first coffee of the day too, for obvious reasons. My beverage pattern during the day is tea first (06:00 - 06:30), coffee (08:00 - 11:30), tea again (11:30 - 19:00), coffee (20:00 - 21:00), then tea (21:00 +) depending on occasion. There are times of the day when tea just doesn't seem right, and also when coffee doesn't. I just could not wake up to a cup of coffee! It has to be tea!

Ah, yes, certainly! Water, in general, especially at breakfastless, is always good for it.

I'm new but I'm really excited because I can answer your question so I'm waving my hand and shouting "me sir!, me sir!"
Listen tea contains caffeine Duh about the same amount as your average coffee. BUT it also contains quantities of natural barbiturate substances ie valium. However these are bound up and pass straight through the body unless.... wait for it... you add FAT to the mix. ie milk (or yak butter or ghee or whatever) The barbiturate substances are caught by the fats and then digested and released into your bloodstream making you feel aaaaaahh! So a good proper Henglish cup of tea with milk and sugar gives you a caffeine high and a barbiturate low and a glucose boost. That`s why it makes you feel so good.
I thank you and goodnight.
