therodgers21  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hi,

If red, yellow & blue are basic colours, why are the electronic basics red, green, & blue?

We had this question recently. RYB aren't the primary colours used in TV (i.e. when adding colours of light  to produce new colours)
Red Green and Blue are the colours which can be used to give the same sensation as most colours which you can see around you.
