coffee with milk is an endangered species!
I took Anastasia out to a restaurant for dinner today, not only did i not get what i ordered, i was reminded of the reason why i now avoid such establishments...a simple cup of coffee.

When i said I would like a coffee after the meal, i was bombarded with about 10 different Styles of coffee, not one of them was simply with milk...coffee with milk seems to be very unfashionable and how they stared at my request, and seemed to take pleasure in telling me they did not make coffee with milk.

what has happened to the humble cup of coffee, it is endangered...now, that can't be true...can it?

I do however relate to your experience and agree with it totally...

It does astonish me how one simply has to go out of ones way to specify a regular coffee !!...............

Its that way here also and I too have been in places where a regular coffee is obsolete! It is odd.

It's all your fault of course !!!.....that's a generic ' You ' I'm using  by the way!!........another American invasion...I am sure Starbucks was the first of many here in the UK.......but then...I shouldn't complain because I have the good old USA to thank for Burger King Luff and goodness !!...which everyone agrees is pure joy !!

That's just not nice!  I didn't say I drink regular coffee.(that's for old people......like you!) [:D]

I only drink decaf with milk.......and only when I'm freezing or really hungry.

Yes blame us for Star bucks and burger king and Kentucky fried.. the old kernal himself may rise from the dead and strike you down whilst your chewing that chicken leg... and  eating all those burgers! LOL!

We are a smallish community with probably 50 coffee places most of which serve everything but several only specialty coffees like mocha  cappuchino's with whipped creme... Yummmmmy! But I like coffee to.. but I am allergic to caffeine in good size doses so have to be careful!

All coffee is endngered to me! The stuff smells really good, but I don't feel like drinking it. I'd rahter stick with the normal Mountain Dew in the morning!

Sometimes I use a cafe/greasy spoon and if I ask for a regular sized coffee
instead of Latte milk with steamy milk. I get it.
But I like Cappucino too, for a treat.

Wow.. Seems odd to think of young kids drinking Coffee, but I do recall as a youngster my Gram letting me make a cup of Sanka..with cream and sugar an occasional cup of Folgers...
Instant .. LOL The crystals you know the one! LOL! I thought I was tough stuff with that treat! LOL! All grown up and all! Hee hee hee.. makes me giggle!

Bleh.... COFFEE! i honestly can't stand it! LOL haha .... but then "endangered" milk and coffee? haha thats impossible... we're just being too lazy to make it home by ourselves! AND those cafe's and restaurants can just make everything as fancy as they want! OH and i thought mcdonalds coffee is still plain?? You just have to ask for milk?
