ramona brummett asked the Naked Scientists:
I can not find anywhere online evidence of a study. The study was about mother infant bonding in the " critical period ". The study was testing olfactory recognition verses sight. I watched a vhs tape from the library in 1995 when I was pregnant. In the study they took the infant out of the room, showed the mother photos of a line up of baby's ( including hers). Then asked the mothers to identify their baby. Then had the mothers smell baby shirts and pick out theirs. Well, the conclusion was 9 times out of 10 olfactory identification won. I mentioned this study in my psychology class and now my professor want proof. Please if you know of what I speak save me. Thank you, Ramona Brummett.
