Post by: cat_with_no_eyes on 09/11/2010 17:24:47
Do I sound underweight?
I was wondering If i sound underweight, dont tell me about the bmi crap because i have more muscle and so that can be misleading.

Anyway, i'm female and in my late teens. I am 5''5 (164 cm) and weight is 126 pounds (converted into stones this is 9 stones) (converted into kg its 57 kg)

I do carry a lot of biceps muscle, ab muscle and lower leg muscles.

I eat 3 small meals a day.

Do I sound underweight? or skinny? am i on the higher end of skinny? I dont know tell me

I think you are just about in the middle of your ideal weight range.

I am in the middle of my weight range also, unfortunately for two people though!

So long as you feel comfortable with yourself, bugger what others think and bugger the tables and charts.

At least you haven't been suckered in by the BMI stuff.. for individuals it has little of no meaning.

I think 164cm at 57kgs is fairly average (some might say a little high but consider your physique as you describe - it's very normal)

Do I sound underweight? Hmmmm...

That's a new one. Mrs G usually says something like "Does this dress make me look fat?"

Being a scientist, I have to advise her that it's not the dress that's making her look fat.  [;D]

OUCH!  [B)]

Just curious, but why the name 'cat with no eyes'?

Is it like a dog with no nose?

A dog with  no nose! How does it smell?

Bloody awful!

I do carry a lot of biceps muscle, ab muscle and lower leg muscles.

Is your building yourself up like this a result of being seriously into sports or just for the perceived health benefits?

Building up? hmm not really, if I stood next to someone who was my age with all the above, you would not be able to tell who had muscle. I dont 'bulk' out my muscles are not visible, they just happen to be there when I tense them. I guess thats a good thing, but people do get a shocker when they feel them :) I'm not much of a sporty person but I do want good health. I didnt even know I had muscles, only 6 months after dropping out of the gym and that was it. As for the leg muscles, genetically, I was pretty much born to run.
