Title: What does tinnitus and ELF have to do with each other?

I have tinnitus and I was playing around with a tone generator in the 2 to 400 Hz range, and I noticed a modulation of the tone of the ringing in my ears.  At 2.73 Hz and again at 43.23 Hz as measured by the tone generator there was a distinctive warble in the ringing in my ears.  I also had a sensation of increased pressure in my ears at those frequencies.

If slightly different frequencies were simultaneously played in each ear then you get the "binaural beats" effect ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats
