Title: Can you see the moon, Venus and Jupiter .....?
Post by: dentstudent on 03/12/2008 11:16:43
visible in the south....yes you can! (The lengths we go to to put something into question format...)

If you look at about 18:00 (CET) you should be able to see these 3 together. Obviously, the moon is the brightest one (!), the next is Venus, and then above and to the right you should be able to see Jupiter. If you have some reasonable binoculors, you can see the 4 largest moon around Jupiter. Well worth a few minutes in the cold!

Great shot! It also shows how the stars etc appear updside down in the southern hemisphere as compared to the northern.

Also, more pareidolia! What a happy face!

Were you hoping that the flash would make the moon a bit brighter?

Alas where I live I am lucky to be able to see the moon. Light pollution leaves me with just the moon and 3 or 4 stars visible at the best of times.
