If the Earth is merely a figment of the imagination, it is unlikely to be a figment of our imagination.

Since we all see each other as inhabitants of Earth, if Earth does not exist, then in all likelihood neither would all the other persons whom we imagine to walk upon the Earth, and thus it would mean that I (in my case, or you in your case) would be the only person to exist, for there would be no Earth upon which the rest of us could exist.  Thus, if the Earth is imaginary, then in all probability so are all but one of its inhabitants.  The only inhabitant that can be presumed to be more than mere imagination is the individual who is self aware (Cogito, ergo sum).

So it could be entirely possible, but impossible to confirm?

Indeed, it is entirely possible.

The problem is that if we (singularly or collectively) assume the Earth does not exist, we have no effective alternative theory (at least none that we can back up with observation) with which to judge what is real.

The 'reality' of the existence of the Earth, and the persons we see upon it, is the best working theory we have, because it is the only working theory we have; but there is no way we can conclusively prove it to be the correct theory.

All I can say it that if Earth is indeed a figment of imagination then
who ever or what ever is imagining it ,please continue to imagine it..

...I have an appointment on June 5th and I really need the Earth to still
be here at that time...and for a while after.

Thank you for your kind consideration in this matter.
