Hi.
I am having trouble identifying this creature. What is this bug??? I'm not even sure if
it is a bug. I live in a neighborhood development built 4-5 years ago in the
woods near the southeastern coast of NC. It is July 27 and summer. I walked outside my front door and see a giant "bug" perched up against the side of my house. It did not move. It just remained frozen, holding horizontally with suction-cup-looking limbs. From the corner of my eye, it looked like a bat. At second glance, a baby bird. But as I looked closely, it think it looks more like a bug. I really don't know what it is. I will feel foolish if it is something simple and obvious, but from what I see, it is hard to tell! It never ended up moving all day. [???]
If anybody could get back to me about what this is or how to identify what it is, I would appreciate it. Anybody know another website I could use? Thanks!!

Right. I remember when I was at 6th grade and my classmates told me that they saw an "earth dragon" which then they added that it's actually a caterpillar but looked so much like a dragon. Probably this was what they saw. Some caterpillars do become moths, after all.
