Have people done this sort of thing before?
Will the giraffe hold or will you just end up on your backside?
-
Although not a terribly useful reply [:I] - if anyone knows whether it is true that zebras duck their heads to avoid being lassoed (and consequently riden)I would be grateful.
-
Considering the slope of the Giraffe's back, I wouldn't think it possible.
No doubt some prawn has tried though. Probably the same burk who's been tring to ride Zebras!

Their backs are quite sloped.. following the slope of the neck almost... even if it was possible to sit.. I wonder if a giraffe could hold the extra weight...
-
i don't know the answer, but it sure would be awesome.
-
Yes, I think you're right. I had forgotten about how big their backs are.

Yes, I think it will be too.
Obviously the people who photoshopped this do too. [:)]

That's brilliant - I'll show that in my lectures...
-
Agreed...excellent editing ...nicely done Chemistry4me
-
Smashing thanks.
Leet photoshop skillz there.
-
a careful observer or ex-photoshop lover (ahem) might notice that she is slightly more blurry than the giraffe. definitely a great edit though, you found the perfect fit for it [:)]

I think if you could design an appropriate sadle, train a wild animal to cope with being ridden and the giraffe can cope with the wait then, I'd give it a go.

Just to clarify, I didn't photoshop it. No way! [;D]
Some other clever bugger did it.
-
How would you get up there? Pole vault?
-
i think the best way would be to climb a tree [:P]
-
One would need to be quite skilled at lassoing to catch them in the first place.
-
Just a thought, but if daddy giraffes didn't ride mummy giraffes there wouldn't be any baby giraffes.
Since an adult male giraffe weighs a lot more than a person does I think it's fair to assume that the animal's back is strong enough to be ridden- but building the saddle would be a challenge.

Haha, good point!
