Steve McCormack asked the Naked Scientists:
Hiccups
Hi, I heard your podcast this morning and the question on hiccups. One method to stop hiccups which I have used many times is the following.
You get the person who has the hiccups to look into your eyes, and then you ask them a question eg. Name the 7 dwarfts or Name the planets in order from the sun. By the time they answer as many as they can, their hiccups will have stopped.
I dont know how this works, but it is pretty amazing.
Thanks and keep up the good work
Steve
