Title: Why do some things flush more easily than others?
Post by: thedoc on 06/10/2012 17:30:01
Rebecca  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hi Naked Scientists,

Recently, in an attempt to stay awake during a particularly boring experiment, I was listening to a more light-hearted radio programme, during which the host recommended some youTube clips entitled "Will it Flush?".

This led me to wonder why some things flush more easily than others? not necessarily in toilets but when trying to rinse things down drains in general. Is there some easy way to explain this? and/or some trick one can use to flush things away more easily?

Thanking you for many interesting shows! (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/)
Kind regards,
Rebecca
